LAS VEGAS NEVADA

Good Friends...A Good Time...and Good Food.  We had a blast in Las Vegas.  We ran into more friends down from Seattle to see the Frankie Beverly and Maze Concert at the Las Vegas Hilton.  Our evening began with a wonderful dinner at Binehanas Restaurant followed by just an amazing concert.  Maze with Frankie Beverly was worth the trip.  A day after the concert was spent with very nice people and friends from the City.  Donna and Bill lived near the Oasis RV Resort where we stayed.  Beginning with a IHOP delicious breakfast and relaxing the rest of the day was a hit.

Additional sites of interest were a tour of the M&M Candy Factory and Cactus Farm.  Plus, a drive up and down the Las Vegas strip displayed the brightest lights and a lot of glitter...Amazing...night and day look like two different cities.

TOMORROW MORN BEGINS THE LAST LEG

Five months have come and gone!  Tomorrow morning represents the last leg of our trip before we start home.  We will be leaving Bullhead City, AZ for higher temperatures in Las Vegas.  This leg of the trip is to see the Frankie Beverly and Maize Concert that will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton...what a way to end a great trip.  One other note...it is a small world...we met more friends along the way.  While at the Park here in Bullhead City, Charles and Nanette rolled in to stay at this very RV Resort.  They were able to secure a spot next to Charles and Sonia.  Last night was filled with conversations and football (viewed outside).  Until Las Vegas, talk to you all soon.

Ridgeview RV Resort - BULLHEAD CITY ARIZONA

Well, we are still in Bullhead City, Arizona.  Our location is two miles from Nevada and about six miles from California.  If you get lost you can be in one of three states in a matter of minutes!  Today, like yesterday, was another beautiful 80 degree day.  Our travels took us exploring both Arizona and Nevada.  The top picture was taken on top of the hill at the RV Resort in Arizona looking down on Nevada.  The bottom picture shows the entry way into the RV Resort.  We are parked up on top of the hill.  The Resort is very nice with lots of room.  There are still three couples traveling together, all of us with plans to leave on Tuesday enroute to Las Vegas.  We all had a great bar-b-q today with loads of food to eat...family style...prepared by each RV.  From steak to links to pasta and salads; everything was very good.  We talked about "back-in-the-day" seated in somewhat of a campfire circle...minus the camp fire because it was too warm for added fire.  In a couple of days we will be leaving for our last stop before we begin the trek home and what a day that will be.  Take care and be safe.  Sharon

WILLIAMS ARIZONA AND THE GRAND CANYON

What a view!  The Grand Canyon.  We took a train ride to the Grand Canyon from Williams, Arizona.  The train ride was also an experience...beginning with live entertainment on the way up to the Canyon; and endind with an old fashioned train robbery...what a kick.  The Grand Canyon is one of the most amazing wonders of the world...a simply breath-taking experience.  For some it was a first; and for others, it was two or more visits.  Regardless of how often you see the Grand Canyon, the experience of awe and wonder still remains.  From every "picture" view, the Grand Canyon looks different...the sun, the shadows, the clouds... The first picture tries to capture one of those gorgeous views.  The second picture shows part of our group...Sonia, Paul, Larry and Charles.  The day was mostly sunny, but the weather was very cold (in the high 20's).  Leaving for Bullhead City today brought a change to much warmer temperatures...mid-80's.  Until next time...

The BALLOON FESTIVAL - ALBUQUERQUE NEW MEXICO

We watched while more than 500 hot air balloons were launched into the sky.  It was absolutely beautiful.  One of our traveling companions was able to cross this annual event off his "bucket list".  All four of us couples traveling together were shown great hospitality...and good food.  Thank you John, Alice, Evie, Janice and Larry for the memories.  The bottom picture is just but a snapshot of the concluding fireworks after the late evenings "night glow" of the balloons.  This trip was awesome.

WE'RE BACK ON LINE IN OKLAHOMA CITY

We are back on line!  The last 6 weeks or so were spent with family and friends in Wichita.  It started out with weather to hot to bear and ended with lows in the mid-fifties and highs in the mid-high 80's... much better than the earlier 102 to 109 degree tempertures.  We arrived in Okla City, OK yesterday with temperatures in the mid-80's.  The trip started out great, but less than 100 miles from Wichita, we had a tire blow out...what a loud noise with no warning traveling 70 plus miles per hour.  Larry handled everything very well.  It took about 2 hours on the side of the freeway waiting for emergency services.  The emergency road service purchased the tire, delivered it and changed it...the front passenger side...not sure whether other damage occured.  Our first night in Okla City was spent at a wonderful mexican restaurant called Mama Rojos (or something close to that name-smile).  Today was a beautiful day as well.  After Church, we were treated to a soul food all-you-can-eat buffet...what a delight.  We had yams, greens, mac and cheese, neckbones, ribs, chicken, catfish, green salad, green beans, various breads, various desserts and more.  We back on the eat-more-than-you need "kick".  Thanks to Victoria and AC in OKC.  Until our next blog...peace out!

LARAMIE WYOMING - For a Night

The first picture was taken at Laramie, Wyoming.  There was a brief rain shower followed by a lot of sunshine.  As the clouds were building to the East, it was raining through the sunshine...the rain was happening in the air, but it did not hit the ground.  If you look closely at the picture, you can see the straight lines in the billowed clouds.  The second picture shows the salt flats on the Nevada/Utah border.  As you can see the ground is completely white.  If you look real close, you can see cars lined up to race at the Bonneville Salt Flats race way.  It was pretty awesome to see miles and miles of white ground.  Please excuse the window frame off to the left...we were roaring down Interstate 80 when the picture was taken.  Larry drove 13 hours today and we had two small breaks totaling less than an hour.  The driving weather has been perfect since Reno.  Until the next time.  Sharon
